SIN
Sin is rebellion against God
- Numbers 15:29-30 "The same law shall be for all that sin by ignorance, whether they be natives or strangers. But the soul that committeth any thing through pride, whether he be born in the land or a stranger (because he hath been rebellious against the Lord) shall be cut off from among his people"
- Deuteronomy 32:5 "They have sinned against him, and are none of his children in their filth: they are a wicked and perverse generation."
- Job 35:6 "If thou sin, what shalt thou hurt him? and if thy iniquities be multiplied, what shalt thou do against him?"
- Isaias 48:8 "Thou hast neither heard, nor known, neither was thy ear opened of old. For I know that transgressing thou wilt transgress, and I have called thee a transgressor from the womb."

Sin is failure to attain God's glory
- 1 Saint Peter 2:20 "For what glory is it, if, committing sin and being buffeted for it, you endure? But if doing well you suffer patiently: this is thankworthy before God."
Sin alienates us from God
- Romans 3:23 "And it shall be, that every soul which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people."(Not hearing prophets, for example the 3 seers of Fatima, is sin, will destroy us and separate us from God.)

Sin makes us slave of sin
- Saint John 8:34 "Jesus answered them: Amen, amen, I say unto you that whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin."
- Romans 6:16 "Know you not that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are whom you obey, whether it be of sin unto death or of obedience unto justice."(Shall we be servents of truth and TRUE obedience, or slaves of sin and death?)

Sin is cause of death
- Genesis 3:17 "And to Adam he said: Because thou hast hearkened to the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee, that thou shouldst not eat, cursed is the earth in thy work: with labour and toil shalt thou eat thereof all the days of thy life."

Sin is from devil
- Saint John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil: and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning: and he stood not in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof."
- Acts 13:10 "Said: O full of all guile and of all deceit, child of the devil, enemy of all justice, thou ceases not to pervert the right ways of the Lord."

The unforgivable sin
- Saint Matthew 12:31-32 "Therefore I say to you: Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him neither in this world, nor in the world to come."(The sin against the virtue of hope: despair and presumption.)

Sins that exclude us from God's Kingdom
- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: Neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers: Nor the effeminate nor liers with mankind nor thieves nor covetous nor drunkards nor railers nor extortioners shall possess the kingdom of God."

God desires sinner's return
- Isaias 49:14-16 "And Sion said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her infant, so as not to have pity on the son of her womb? and if she should forget, yet will not I forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee in my hands: thy walls are always before my eyes."
- Jeremias 3:12 "Go, and proclaim these words towards the north, and thou shalt say: Return, O rebellious Israel, saith the Lord, and I will not turn away my face from you: for I am holy, saith the Lord, and I will not be angry for ever."
- Ezechiel 33:11 "Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel?"
- Saint Luke 15:20-22 "And rising up, he came to his father. And when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion and running to him fell upon his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him: Father: I have sinned against heaven and before thee I am not now worthy to be called thy son. Only God can forgive sin

Christ forgives sins

GRACE
Grace is a free gift of God
- Zacharias 12:10 "And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me[Christ], whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him[Christ] as one mourneth for an only son, and they shall grieve over him[Christ], as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn[Christ]."
- Saint John 1:16 "And of his fulness we all have received: and grace for grace."
- Saint John 3:27 "John answered and said: A man cannot receive any thing, unless it be given him from heaven."
- Romans 3:24 "Being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus"

Grace is given through Jesus

Grace needed to spread the faith

Grace prepares us for eternal life

God gives grace to the humble
- Proverbs 3:34 "He shall scorn the scorners, and to the meek he will give grace."
- Saint James 4:6 "But he giveth greater grace. Wherefore he saith: God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble."
- 1 Saint Peter 5:5 "In like manner, ye young men, be subject to the ancients. And do you all insinuate humility one to another: for God resisteth the proud, but to the humble he giveth grace."
Grace demands a response
- 1 Corinthians 15:10 "But by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace in me hath not been void: but I have laboured more abundantly than all they. Yet not I, but the grace of God with me"
By grace we grow in knowledge of Christ

Grace more plentiful than sin

Grace can be lost
- Hebrews 12:14-15 "Follow peace with all men and holiness: without which no man shall see God. Looking diligently, lest any man be wanting to the grace of God: lest any root of bitterness springing up do hinder and by it many be defiled"(Without grace to make us holy, we will become defiled.)
- Saint Jude 1:4 "For certain men are secretly entered in (who were written of long ago unto this judgment), ungodly men, turning the grace of our Lord God into riotousness and denying the only sovereign Ruler and our Lord Jesus Christ."(Rejecting grace results in riotousness, in disorderness of the soul.)
